A beautiful sunset to end a nice long weekend. Got everything packed and ready for my first day of work.
This morning I got to navigate the metro on my own, including one train change and traversing the rather confusing Parisian streets to find the cake shop. It is weird not having my smartphone and maps available but I'm looking into getting a Parisian phone, or at least SIM card for my phone. But stores are closed on odd days so the place I had planned to go isn't open until tomorrow, so it can wait a day. Either way I succeeded in finding everything on the first try without getting lost.
It was a short work day, just about 3.5 hrs but it was good to familiarize myself with the kitchen and the girls that work there. It is a tiny place, just 4 of us working in there today. But I made an enormous batch of carrot cake (about 12 8" cakes) and a large batch of cookie dough.
Early morning tomorrow there at 8am. Looking forward to what I bake next.
